I had a short position and my Stop Loss was triggered but I can see on the charts that the price never reached my Stop Loss level.

As this was a Sell position, your Stop Loss had to be triggered at the Ask price. Remember that the price shown on the MT4 charts is the Bid price and the spread needs to be added to it in order to obtain the actual Ask price at the time.
